Coming Soon: TBR Intervention Challenge

Good Day fellow bloggers and readers!

I want to tell you something today, and I'm so excited about this one. I know that each of us have our own TBR list or pile. Some are enormous and continuously growing almost every day... If you're like me, then maybe you are familiar with this trend:

Receive a book(s) from a friend/author/publisher-->ADD TO TBR.
Buy a book(s) from the bookstore-->ADD TO TBR.
Borrow from the library-->ADD TO TBR.
A friend recommend a book-->ADD TO TBR.
Saw a book(s) from other blogs-->ADD TO TBR.

You can relate, right? Well, that is basically ME!

Ayanami (Whatever We Can Still Betray) asked me once: "Any advice on how to manage a TBR pile?" and I answered her: I'm afraid I can't help you with that because as you see, I'm having the same problem with my TBR! =) Just then, Dani (Refracted Light) and Barbara (Basia's Bookshelf) commented on the same post--and that's when I finally decided to contact these lovely ladies. Without these amazing people, I wouldn't be able to come up with this idea alone. It's sad that Barbara can't join us in hosting this challenge but she will always be a valuable part of this. Thanks Barbara! =) And ladies, thank you!

Thanks to Ayanami and Dani for the time, ideas and lots of brainstorming (through mails! thanks to the world wide web). I had fun! I am so so glad that we made it this far! Thanks to Dani for the awesome button she made for this meme! =) You ladies are awesome!

And now, let me introduce to you the new challenge that will soon rock the book blog-o-sphere!

 This challenge will start "live" on October 15th, Saturday.

TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by Dani@RefractedLight , Ayanami@Whatever you Can Still Betray,  and April@Books4Juliet (that's me!)

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.

Here are the rules:

1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).

2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.

3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.

4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below (Linky for the actual TBR Intervention post will be available once this challenge go live on October 15th, Saturday) and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

We are inviting everyone to participate! We hope that we'll be able to help each other in a way. If you are interested to join this challenge, we would like you to add your name and blog link on the Linky Tool below. We just want to know who and how many are interested to join. We are hoping for your participation! Let's make this challenge a fun and enjoyable one!

Mark the date on your calendar and prepare your book and post for Saturday! We really hope you can join us. Please don't forget to visit my fellow hostesses for this event. See you around! XOXO!

2011 Spooktacular October Paranormal Reading Challenge hosted by Ramblings of A Daydreamer

October Paranormal Reading Challenge

TRICK or TREAT!

Hello everyone! It's October! A month from now, we'll be celebrating Halloween! Awesome events are lurking in the blogosphere right now, and more to come, I bet. In celebration of the Halloween, I'm joining different events, and one of those is  the 2011 Spooktacular October Paranormal Reading Challenge hosted by Ramblings of A Daydreamer

Since I am joining the October Paranormal Reading Challenge, I may not be able to read the book you voted in my Help Me Pick My Next Read Poll at the moment. I know it's no big deal for you, but I don't want anyone to think (especially those who took time to vote) that I didn't recognize or appreciate your help. But I do thank you all for your time, and I hope you can visit my site again from time to time. This challenge requires at least  three (3) paranormal book reviews to enter the giveaway. I'm not a fast reader so I might need to set aside other genre to give way to paranormal novels. This is so exciting and if you want to join us in this challenge, you can visit Marie's website at Ramblings of A Daydreamer to read the rules for this exciting event.

Cheers!
