Waiting On Wednesdays (18)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

BLOOD RED ROAD is one of my most favorite book ever and I can't tell you how much I anticipate this sequel. I was surprised and shocked (in a very good way) when I saw the cover of Dust Lands #2 and isn't it enticing? Jack is on the cover! Wohoo! =) If you enjoyed (devoured) and loved Hunger Games, Maze Runner, and other dystopian books but yet to read Blood Red Road by Moira Young, I urge you to do so. It's an awesome book! You can read my review here >> Blood Red Road (only if you want to, but I hope you will =).

This is the first WOW for 2012 and I'm excited to post about this book. I so love love love Anna and the French Kiss, and eversince I read that book, I've been craving for more delicious contemporary romance novels. I am a huge fan of Stephanie Perkins and I love Lola and the Boy Next Door too! I also became a fan of Sarah Dessen and Jenifer Echols and now I want to try this book by Melissa Jensen.

Especially when he is your French tutor, and lessons have started becoming, well, certainly more interesting than French ever has been before. "Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Devine Intervention
Author: Martha Brockenbrough
Published Date: June 1st 2012
Published By: Arthur A. Levine Books
Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance

Summary from Goodreads:
Heavenly writing, earthy characters, and humor that is wicked as hell.

Heidi is sixteen. Insecure. Unkissed. Unremarkable, she thinks, in every way but one: She has a guardian angel, Jerome, who whispers in her ear all day long, amusing her, confusing her, but hardly ever saying anything that might help her discover who she's meant to be.

Jerome is seventeen (for the seventeenth year in a row.) There is only one thing he needs to do to graduate from heaven's soul rehabilitation program for wayward teenagers: Follow the 10 Commandments for the Dead, and in doing so, keep Heidi safe.

Instead, he accidentally lets her drown.

Plucked from her body before she ever truly lives, Heidi wants more than anything to say goodbye to her family and best friend. Jerome, afraid he's going to be sent to the lowest level of Hell, wants to sneak her into heaven before he gets caught.

Neither realizes that Heidi has only 24 hours before her soul dissolves forever. And that might not be enough time for them to figure out how they were meant to live.

I saw this book last week and I immediately added it to my TBR pile (good luck to my growing list). I love love the cover! Look at the arrow in the guy's head! Lol! I want this book already!

What's on your WOW post today?

Waiting On Wednesdays (9)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

As you all know, I always enjoy post-apocalyptic novels but no to horror! I've been excited for this one ever since I saw the book cover and read the summary and I didn't know (until today) that it's about Zombies! Oh well, good luck to me then! *wink!

This Is Not A Test
Author: Courtney Summers
Publication Date: June 19, 2012
Publisher:St. Martin's Griffin
Genre/Category: Young Adult, Dystopian, Horror

Summary on Goodreads:

It’s the end of the world. Six students have taken cover in Cortege High but shelter is little comfort when the dead outside won’t stop pounding on the doors. One bite is all it takes to kill a person and bring them back as a monstrous version of their former self. To Sloane Price, that doesn’t sound so bad. Six months ago, her world collapsed and since then, she’s failed to find a reason to keep going. Now seems like the perfect time to give up.

As Sloane eagerly waits for the barricades to fall, she’s forced to witness the apocalypse through the eyes of five people who actually want to live. But as the days crawl by, everyone’s motivations to survive begin to change in startling ways and soon the group’s fate is determined less and less by what’s happening outside and more and more by the unpredictable and violent bids for life–and death–inside.

When everything is gone, what do you hold on to?

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Obsidian (Lux #1)
Author: Jennifer Armentrout
Publication Date: December 6, 2011
Publisher: Entangled Publishing
Genre/Category: Young Adult, Fantasy

Summary on Goodreads:

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Waiting On Wednesdays (6)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Hello my fellow readers and bloggers! Happy Waiting On Wednesday! The book I am eagerly anticipating is one by Author Julianna Baggott. I am even thrilled to know that Fox Entertainment has acquired the film rights for this book. This is so exciting!

If you want to learn more about Pure, be sure to visit Pure Official Site. You can read the opening pages that is available in the site. You can also pre-order the book at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and IndieBound.

Pure (Pure #1)
Author: Julianna Baggott
Publication Date: February 8, 2012
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing
Genre/Category: Young Adult, Dystopian/Post-Apocalyptic

Summary on Goodreads:

We know you are here, our brothers and sisters . . .
Pressia barely remembers the Detonations or much about life during the Before. In her sleeping cabinet behind the rubble of an old barbershop where she lives with her grandfather, she thinks about what is lost-how the world went from amusement parks, movie theaters, birthday parties, fathers and mothers . . . to ash and dust, scars, permanent burns, and fused, damaged bodies. And now, at an age when everyone is required to turn themselves over to the militia to either be trained as a soldier or, if they are too damaged and weak, to be used as live targets, Pressia can no longer pretend to be small. Pressia is on the run.
Burn a Pure and Breathe the Ash . . .
There are those who escaped the apocalypse unmarked. Pures. They are tucked safely inside the Dome that protects their healthy, superior bodies. Yet Partridge, whose father is one of the most influential men in the Dome, feels isolated and lonely. Different. He thinks about loss-maybe just because his family is broken; his father is emotionally distant; his brother killed himself; and his mother never made it inside their shelter. Or maybe it's his claustrophobia: his feeling that this Dome has become a swaddling of intensely rigid order. So when a slipped phrase suggests his mother might still be alive, Partridge risks his life to leave the Dome to find her.
When Pressia meets Partridge, their worlds shatter all over again.

Waiting On Wednesday (5)

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick for today's WOW is Kiss Crush Collide by Christina Meredith. I remember seeing this book from a fellow blogger's post, weeks or maybe months ago. I instantly added it to my TBRL. I don't know what to expect from it, but I am eagerly anticipating for its release on December. Since it usually takes a month or so before I receive any books I ordered, I would probably get my copy some time in February 2012. I can't wait to get my hand on it! =}

Kiss Crush Collide
Author: Christina Meredith
Publication Date: December 27, 2011
Publisher: Greenwillow Books

Summary on Goodreads:

Leah has the life most high school girls would kill for—popularity, glowing grades, a rich, athletic boyfriend. So why does she feel like she can’t breathe? And why can’t she stop thinking about the boy from the country club? The one who isn’t her boyfriend, the one that her mother would never, ever approve of, the one that her perfect older sisters would never, ever look at twice. The one who is always looking back at her. Irresistible attraction, smoldering glances, the bad boy and the good girl—Kiss Crush Collide has everything that a steamy forbidden romance should, and then some.

With graceful and honest writing and an electric love story, this is a book about growing into your own skin. For fans of Perfect Chemistry, Sarah Dessen, and John Green.

What book do you eagerly anticipate today? I'm excited to know! Don't forget to leave your comment and link so we can hop by to your post. Have fun waiting! =)
