Spooktacular Reads: Which books do you consider festive Halloween reads? Which stories have chilled you to the bone?

My Answer: 

Wake Trilogy by Lisa McMann. It's not that SPOOKY but kinda creepy when you read them during the night. I get scared easily... I'm such a chicken when it comes to spooky books.

My Answer: 

Since it's almost Halloween, I guess Logan Keeley would be an awesome choice. He's a ghost now so I don't think I can serve him food, unless he turns solid. :) I love SHADE boys!

My Answer: 

I always wanted to celebrate Halloween just like how they celebrate it in the U.S. And since I like sexy and flowy dresses, I'll dress up like a witch.. or maybe a goddess just like these women in the pictures! :) I can dream, right? lol.

When I saw this question today, 4 blogs immediately popped into my head (so, sorry if I chose only 4). What makes me smile when I see these blogs? Simple. The girls behind these beautiful blogs are close to my heart. They're my FRIENDS, not just here in the blog-o-sphere, but they're my Facebook BFF too. We talk every single day, and they never fail to cheer me up. These girls and the rest of my FBBFF are amazing! I hope you can meet them too!

This is a tough one. Hmm... But I always liked Rogue of X-Men in the animated series, not in the movie. She can be complex and withdrawn at times. When her confidence is high, she can be wild and fun too. I think I'm a little like that. I'm not sure though, I told you this is tough!

This Friday's Question: 

Show & Tell: Where do you grab a book and get lost in it? Show us your favorite spot you like to read at.

My Answer:

I can only think of two! And I know, the other one is c-r-a-z-y! But if you have a 3 year old child in the house (see the little guy in the picture?), especially when he and my hubby are still awake at night and watching TV, I couldn't find a better place but the comfort room! And when everyone's asleep, I can go to my most comfortable spot--my side of the bed, where I can easily grab any book and get lost in it.

If you could have characters from a particular book meet and form an epic storyline with characters from a particular TV series, which would you choose and why?

My Answer:

I'll pick the Twilight Stars Bella, Edward and Jacob meet Elena, Damon and Stefan of Vampire Diaries. Full Vampire force plus a werewolf (?!) Who knows, it might work! =P

What is your favorite spooky book (i.e. mystery/suspense, thriller, ghost story, etc.)?

My Answer:
I don't have a favorite since Wake Unto Me by Lisa Cach and Wake Trilogy by Lisa McMann are the only spooky books that I've read. I get scared too easily so I usually avoid them, except when they have really awesome reviews.

This Friday's Question: 

Banned Books: How do you feel about the censorship of the freedom to read? Do you think the education system needs to be more strict on what children are exposed to in books?

My Answer:

I'm not totally against the censorship of freedom to read. I know there are valuable reasons why certain books are being challenged or banned. Besides, not every book is for everyone. I agree that the educational system should be more strict on exposing children to books. Young minds can be easily corrupted. I am a mother and a reader. Soon my son will learn to read, and who knows, soon he'll read my books. But as much as I want to share my books with my child, I'm afraid I can't (yet). Not until, he already has a good foundation on discerning what's right from wrong. There are some books which I don't particularly recommend for younger readers. Guidance is important and should be enforced.

People have the right to choose which books to read. But of course, it should always come with responsibility on our part. I believe that every book has a reader. If for certain reasons, it doesn't fit in my shelf or in yours, I know somehow it will find its right place in someone else's bookshelf.

What book that hasn't been turned into a movie (yet) would you most like to see make it to the big screen, and who would you like cast as your favorite character?

My Answer:
I would like to see Divergent, The Host and The Maze Runner on film but they're not counted anymore since they were already optioned for a movie. So I think my next pick would be Wolves of Mercy Falls (Shiver, Linger, Forever) by Maggie Stiefvater. I want to see Grace, Sam, Cole and Isabel come to life. It's one of my favorite series and it would be great to see them on the big screen. And of course I want my all time favorite Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins! As for the cast, I can't think of anyone yet... I'll leave it to the casting crew! =)

This week's topic: “In honor of Banned Books Week, what is your favorite “banned or frequently challenged book”?”

My Answer: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. This book (plus the entire series) is one of my most favorite book ever. Complete with action, suspense, love story, drama, and exciting twists. I couldn't asked more from this book. Another one is Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma, but I didn't find it in the list. This has been controversial for sibling incest so I guess it could be one of those  books being challenged or banned. I absolutely loved it though!

What is your favorite among the banned or frequently challenged books?

Book Disappointments: Have you ever come across a book you were so stoked to read, but it failed miserably in your eyes?

My Answer: 

I don't hate these books, I actually liked them. I just feel that I could have enjoy these books more if not for some tiny itchy concerns I have... But don't let these few issues stop you in reading these novels. We all have different tastes in books, and what I didn't fully enjoy might be one of your favorites =) 

Dreamhunter by Elizabeth Knox

I bought this book together with book 2: Dreamquake, and I was so excited to read them. But it's almost 2 years now and I haven't even finish book 1. It's a bit difficult for me to understand and I can't get into the book emotionally... It seems to be a really good series but right now, I'm not sure when I would be able to finish these books.

Rampant by Diana Peterfreund

With a book with so much potential, all I get are handful of questions instead of rightful answers. This book has lots of whys and hows, and I didn't get explanations at all. So it's a little frustrating for the reader like me to fully understand the story. I could have enjoyed this book more.

Q. It's that pesky magic book fairy again! She has another wish: What imaginary book world would you like to make a reality?

A. The first thing that comes to my mind when I was asked this question is the Summer Beach at the Summer Series by Jenny Han. Ok, I don't know if this place really exist, but probably it's real. But it's too impossible for me to be there right now, so I think it would be great to have the Summer Beach here. It's not only the beach, but the atmosphere. It would be so much fun if I could spend my summer there with my family and friends. So, yeah, I choose the Summer Beach. I know it's not magical and there's nothing paranormal about it, but I want to experience those awesome summers just like Belly when she spend hers with Conrad and Jeremiah.

My Answer:

You can read my "About Me" tab to see what's in my profile. The basic is there--my real name! I think that is one most important thing to include in my profile, since I myself would love to know the real name of my fellow bloggers especially when I visit and talk to them online. The rest are small pieces about me--my passion, books I enjoy, some hobbies, some of my views in life... =)

Making a Difference: Which book(s) would you put in the hands of today's teenagers in hopes of making a difference in their lives? 

The BIBLE - There is no other book as important and as influential as the word of God. More than any other book, this one is the most essential to every person's life.

I couldn't think of any book to add, but this one immediately popped into my mind. 

THE LAST SONG by Nicholas Sparks

This is a story about a teenage girl named Ronnie--her relationship to her father and the music that connects them. It's an unforgettable story of forgiveness and love--how it breaks our hearts and how it heals them. I hope every teenager (even us) pay attention to what is important in life--our family and our faith in God. I always believe that in life, we may have all, but if we lose our faith and our family, it will be like losing everything.

Q. If you could change the ending of any book (or series), which book would you choose? And, why? 

A. I chose FORBIDDEN by Tabitha Suzuma

This book has always been one my favorites--it is disturbingly beautiful that I couldn't get it out of my head. I was torn when I finish this book and my heart still breaks every time I think about it. The ending was really good and I couldn't think of a better alternative. The author has written it very well and I think it's the appropriate way to end the story. It was just so emotional and heart-breaking that sometimes I wish it has a happy ending.  I don't want to change it....just  thinking of what-could-have-beens....

P.S. So sorry I have to edit my statement 'cos I don't want others to misinterpret my opinion about Forbidden. It was a great book and I don't want to spoil anyone who wants to read it. So here, I put the Spoiler last so anyone can skip this part =)

What if Logan didn't have to die? That maybe there's another way that Maya and Logan can be together and their siblings can have a good future too. In the end, they could found out that they're not really siblings so it won't be disgusting to think that they will get married and have their family of their own.... (ok, it will be a lame ending though... =)

This week's topic: “What are you most looking forward to this fall/autumn season – A particular book release? Halloween? The leaves changing color? Cooler temperatures? A vacation? We don't have Fall/Autumn Season =) We only got Summer and Rainy Days here, and while most of you are excited for Fall/Autumn season to come, we're preparing for our rainy days season. We might have another rainy Halloween, or worse, stormy one! It happens basically every year, so it's not that fun anymore. But I will surely grab a handful of books by that time. There will be lots of good titles to be release during that season. It might be too early but, Happy Halloween! =B
